The method of blood test measurement will change.

From the JSCC standards! An introduction in the column about the change to methods equivalent to the standard measurement procedures of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry (IFCC).

Currently, the measurement of ALP (alkaline phosphatase) and LD (lactate dehydrogenase) is widely adopted using the JSCC standardization method proposed by the Japanese Society of Clinical Chemistry (JSCC), but it is known that the specificity for isoenzymes differs. For this reason, the JSCC has decided to resolve this issue while also making it easier to use international guidelines and to align with the measurement methods of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC), which can accommodate international collaborative clinical trials. With this change, ALP and LD, which have been measured based on Japan's unique standards, will now conform to international standard methods, allowing for the direct use of routine test results in international clinical trials and academic publications. This is expected to facilitate the presentation of research findings, and ultimately, it may lead to announcements that contribute to our health management. *For more details on the column, please refer to the related links.
